This course is for anyone wishing to learn emergency first aid and secure their initial emergency first aid qualification. The course specifically includes anaphylaxis, making it especially relevant to beekeepers and bee farmers, as well as those working in situations where allergic reactions are likely.

About the Course

Course Leader - Tori Davies

First Aid is the first line of defence in promoting recovery, preserving life and preventing any condition from getting worse. 

This practical, 1-day course is NUCO accredited and is ideal for:-

  • Bee Farmers
  • Beekeepers
  • Any low risk businesses wishing to fulfil their duty of care to employees
The course includes specific coverage of anaphylaxis, making it especially relevant to beekeepers and bee farmers, as well as those working in situations where allergic reactions are likely.


The Tutors

The course will be run by Tori Davies. Tori is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IoSH). She is a hugely experienced and well regarded trainer with experience working across many private and public sectors (including healthcare, hospitality, construction and manufacturing.

The Venue

The course will be held at The Bee Centre’s visitor centre in the grounds of the Samlesbury Hall estate near Preston. We are 5 minutes from J31 of the M6. The facility includes a large indoor visitor centre and classroom area alongside our outdoor apiaries and half-acre pollinator garden.

Set in the heart of Lancashire, the location is ideal for those who wish to integrate the course with an extended visit to the North West. We are a short hop from the Lake District, the North Yorks Moors and the beautiful Trough of Bowland. There is also Samlesbury Hall itself; a striking 12th-century building and visitor attraction which now includes an excellent restaurant and wafflery. There is also plenty to do for partners who wish to accompany delegates and/or for those of you who want to take the opportunity for an extended stay.

Food, Accomodation, Etc.

The course fee includes refreshments throughout the day. Due to an increasing variation in dietary needs, lunch is not included. It is recommended that customers bring a packed lunch. There are also a few local shops where food can be purchased.

There is accommodation available on site (in glamping-style shepherds huts) at additional cost, as well as local hotels, pubs and B&Bs. A selection of links are provided below.
